March 23, 2020 - Residential Utility Services

On March 23, 2020 the Town of Boiling Springs suspended late fees and disconnection of residential utility services for nonpayment of bills. Governor Roy Cooper issued an Executive Order on March 31, 2020 to reduce the financial impact on the state’s citizens who are experiencing financial hardships due to COVID-19 by prohibiting utility disconnections and late fees. The order applies for the next 60 days and gives residential customers at least 6 months to pay outstanding bills. This order helped clarify the procedures the Town already had in place to assist its citizens. The Town did reconnect utility services that were disconnected prior to March 31, 2020. While the Town Hall is closed to the public, payments may be made online at www.boilingspringsnc.net, by phone at 1-888-514-9829, by mail or by using the drive-up payment drop box located in front of the Town Hall. You may be experiencing changes in cash flow. Please stay as current as possible with payments to avoid accumulating a large balance that may be harder to manage later.

Town Policy Regarding Payment Plans:

50.808 PAYMENT/NONPAYMENT OF CHARGES

(C) The Finance Director may negotiate and enter into a schedule of regular payments lasting up to 6 months with a customer in cases of unusually high consumption or exigent personal circumstances provided that the Town collects all charges due and the agreement is signed by the customer. The Town Manager may extend any such agreement by an additional 6 months.

Thank you and please stay safe.
