About the Board
The Board of Planning and Adjustment is a nine member volunteer board appointed by the Town Council. As a Planning Board, this group makes advisory decisions and recommends policies to the Town Council on matters of planning, zoning, development, and land use including amendments to land use ordinances, subdivision plats, site plans, and rezoning requests. Seven members of the board live inside the corporate limits of the Town of Boiling Springs and two members live in the Town’s Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ), an unincorporated area outside of Town where the zoning rules are also in affect. The Board of Planning and Adjustment meet on the third Tuesday of the month as needed. If there are no items for consideration, the Board of Planning and Adjustment does not hold a meeting. Please contact the Town’s planning staff to confirm meetings of the Board of Planning and Adjustment.
Five members of the Board of Planning and Adjustment also serve as the Town’s Board of Adjustment. The Board of Adjustment conducts quasi-judicial hearings for variances, special and conditional use permits, and administrative appeals.
